18th November 2006...things are bound to get worse before they get better! The bonfire, fuelled by rotten wood, of which there is a huge amount scattered about the garden, and woody weeds cleared in the first big push, adds my little bit to climate change! The heap of garbage to go to the dump grows ever bigger. The leaves have gone from the trees, but we've still only had a couple of frosts.

Planted out spring cabbage and sowed broad beans (both under plastic sunflower oil bottle cloches).
