I spent just a few hours in Salzburg on my way to and from a freelance assignment. The first morning was sunny, the second, gloomy, so I saw the city in two very different moods. This is necessarily a snatched impression of a beautiful and complex city and I apologise to it!

The first morning, before my meeting, I walked some of the area north of the river. A couple of days later, as the clouds hung low over the hills, I wandered through the old city south of the river, climbed the hill past the funicular railway to look down on the city's roofs and towers. Then, off to the airport...phew!
