Our Worst Camping Experience in Canada

Magnetic Hill Campground, Monkton, New Brunswick

Nestling beside Highway 2, along which semis roar and trumpet all night, this campground was miserable in the extreme. It was full of noisy people of all ages, most of whom were apperently bent on getting drunk.

The sites were packed in like sardines, the facilities only just passable (the sinks in the washroom have a shelf over them that gets in the way of most normal functions, and the shower stalls felt like dank medieval dungeons) and the cost tremendous ($16).

We were here only because we wished to visit Magnetic Hill first thing in the morning. It would be the only reason, other than desperation, for camping here.
