Camping in North America
The pleasures and pitfalls of living under canvas
April 1997 onwards
It's
August. We're sitting in a campground, somewhere in eastern Canada. Mosquitoes
whine, and no-see-ums nibble. There is the pungent pong of pit toilets.
Strains of Country and Western music drift over from a nearby trailer.
Small dogs yap. Children howl. Someone is chopping wood with a blunt axe.
At least it's not raining...
These are
our camping experiences.
We hope
that our sharing them may help you avoid some of the bad experiences!
