Day 54, May 25, 1997 |
Oregon Dunes |
5 km |
We packed up and headed north, looking for a new place to stay.
This time we wanted shower facilities. We found what we were looking for
just a few miles up the road. We had been staying in Forest Service sites
and paying $14 US for our site, with access to flush toilets (not always
in pretty condition) and cold running water. The state park, on the other
side of the road from the dunes, was $15 and offered electricity and water
at every site, hot running water in the washrooms, and showers. We also
found that there were no mosquitoes on this side of the road! We parked.
We spent the rest of the day drying out in the sun, writing, and reading.
