Halfway back

Week 24

Nova Scotia - North Dakota via
New Brunswick, Maine, Québec, Ontario, Michigan, Wisconsin, & Minnesota

3565 km

It was a very different kind of week. It seemed as though one minute we'd faced the fact that going directly back to BC was the most prudent course of action, and the next moment we were half way there! Heading west was an odd feeling. We were experiencing new places at a rapid pace and also enjoying returning to the prairies, which we had enjoyed so much the first time.

Most days we travelled much farther than our usual habits. There was less exploration and a lot more watching the scenery pass by. We were glad to enter the States, where campgrounds overseen by municipalities and federal agencies are less expensive and more commonplace. Even with exchange, we found our dollar went a lot further south of the border.

Gateway to week 24:
Day 162: Lost fossils
Day 163: Full circle
Day 164: Back in the USA
Day 165: Roadkill
Day 166: Fog
Day 167: Ralph
Day 168: Three states
