The Hogg Clock tower prominent on the skyline of Steamer Point (right), as it still is fifty years later (though some current pictures show the clock face without hands), with the white building on the promentory to its left and the pitched-roof building to its left also still visible in recent photographs. The surrounding slopes have been largely built over. In the background, other buildings are still identifiable (see enlargement). As a small child I peered over the rails at this view four times, from the decks of the Empire Clyde, Devonshire, Arcadia and Fairsea. Now however I need orientating can anyone tell me in what direction my father pointed his camera lens? | ADEN INDEX | |
