British Columbia April/July 1997 | BRITISH COLUMBIA CONTENTS | BC GALLERY |
Since British Columbia is home we left it, returned and left it again, several times. Ralph had travelled much of the province in his previous job, and Lenore was born and bred in Osoyoos, in the Okanagan Valley, so we might have started out on our trip being a bit blasé about the province's many aspects. Not any more! Our journey has constantly encouraged comparisons and reflections. Many places have fared well there is nothing in B.C. to compare with Arizona, for instance, or Newfoundland. But some
places (sorry Ontario and Nova
Scotia and Montana) have seemed
rather unremarkable when you are accustomed to immense forests, beautiful
lakes, spectacular, sharp-toothed mountains and the thunder of the Pacific.
